Marriage

Congratulations on your engagement. This is an important and joyful time, and we are grateful you are considering Christ on the Mountain for your preparation.

Catholics believe Marriage is a sacrament, a sacred covenant in which a man and a woman freely give themselves to one another before God. Christ strengthens their lifelong union and gives their love a mission in the life of their family and the Church. We would be honored to help you prepare for this important step.

Your wedding day matters, but the promise you make is meant for every day that follows. Marriage preparation is a chance to slow down together, reflect on the life you hope to build, and invite Christ more deeply into your relationship. It gives you time to prepare for a faithful, permanent, and life-giving marriage before the practical decisions of a wedding take over.

Begin with a Conversation

Please contact Fr. Witold as soon as you begin planning your wedding. Couples should reach out at least eight to 12 months before the anticipated wedding date so there is time for preparation and the parish can help guide the process.

If either person has been married before, a wedding date cannot be set until the annulment process, if one is required, has been completed. Please contact the parish before booking a venue or making firm wedding plans.

Preparing for the Sacrament

Marriage preparation helps a couple prepare for more than a wedding day. It is a time to grow in understanding of the sacrament, to speak honestly about the life you are building together, and to make the practical arrangements for celebrating your wedding at Christ on the Mountain.

The process also gives the parish a chance to understand your situation with care, especially if there are questions about prior marriages, parish registration, paperwork, or scheduling. Reaching out early gives you the most room to prepare well and helps prevent a last-minute surprise.

When you contact the parish, we will help you understand the preparation process and the next steps for your situation.
