Parish life is more than the time we spend at Mass. It also grows through shared meals, easy conversation, family gatherings, and the friendships that help us walk with one another through every season of life.
At Christ on the Mountain, there are many simple ways to get to know people and feel more at home. Did we mention food? You are welcome to come as you are, whether you are new to the parish or have been here for years.
Something (food) for Every Season
Our parish community comes together in many ways throughout the year. Some gatherings happen regularly, while others are seasonal or occasional. Food is often involved. The bulletin is the best place to find current dates, locations, and any needed registration details.
Make a Connection
There is no single way to belong. You might enjoy a book discussion, a handwork gathering, a conversation with other mothers, or an evening with other women from the parish. These groups offer a comfortable place to meet people, share interests, and build friendships.
Book Club
The Book Club meets on the first Monday of the month at 4:00 p.m. for conversation about a selected book. No sign-up is required.
Moms’ Group
Mothers of young and school-aged children gather twice a month on Thursday mornings during the school year for faith, friendship, and support. Nursery care is available.
Sewing & Knitting Fellowship
This relaxed gathering meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 10:30 a.m. for handwork, conversation, and fellowship.
Women’s Group Fellowship
Women gather on the second Monday of the month, generally at 6:00 or 6:30 p.m., for conversation, connection, and activities such as Bunco.
Parish-Wide Events
Share a Meal, Make a Memory
Some of our favorite opportunities to connect bring the whole parish together. These gatherings welcome familiar faces and new ones alike.
Pajamas, Pizza & Prayer
Families gather periodically for a relaxed evening of food, prayer, and time together at church. Children are welcome to come in pajamas.
Parish Picnic
Our annual summer picnic is a chance to share a meal and enjoy one another’s company as a parish family.
Pints with a Priest
On selected summer evenings, adults can gather informally with a priest, ask questions, and meet others from the parish. Beer and non-alcoholic beverages are available.
Lenten Fish Dinners
During Lent, Saint Jude Knights of Columbus hosts Friday fish dinners from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. It is a simple and welcoming way to share a meal during this prayerful season.
Trunk or Treat
Each fall, parish families are invited to enjoy decorated vehicles, candy, and family activities at this parish Halloween gathering.
Start With One Gathering
You do not need to know anyone before you come except that food (or a snack) might be involved. Choose an event or group that sounds enjoyable, or contact the parish office if you would like help finding a good place to begin.*
*Not all events involve food. Then again, a bunch do. Joining us does not guarantee food, but it does increase your chances.
