Holy Orders

The Church needs men who are willing to give their lives in service to Christ and his people. In the Sacrament of Holy Orders, bishops, priests, and deacons are ordained to serve the Church through the Word of God, the sacraments, and works of charity.

Holy Orders is not simply a career choice or a role someone chooses alone. A vocation begins with the patient work of listening for God’s call through prayer, the sacraments, trusted relationships, and the life of the Church. A person who is discerning does not need to be certain before speaking with someone. Honest questions and a desire to learn are a good place to begin.

Could God Be Calling You?

If you are wondering whether God may be inviting you to priesthood or the permanent diaconate, start with prayer and a conversation. Speak with Fr. Witold, bring the question to the Lord in Mass and Adoration, and give yourself time to listen.

Discernment is not about forcing an answer or trying to prove yourself worthy. It is a process of growing in freedom, learning how God has given you gifts to serve others, and allowing the Church to walk with you. Even if priesthood or the diaconate is not your vocation, sincere discernment can deepen your relationship with Christ and clarify the way he is calling you to love and serve.
